About Me
Zia is a clinical psychologist who has been working in private practice, hospital and organisational settings for over twenty years.
Zia focuses on developing a therapeutic relationship with the client by providing a compassionate, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
There is a strong commitment to providing clients with effective treatment and positive outcomes.
Focused, evidence-based psychological approaches are used including Insight-Oriented Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
This integrative approach allows for personalised therapy tailored to suit each individual and his/her particular needs.
Services are eligible for Medicare and private health fund rebates.

- Masters of Clinical Psychology, University of Kwazulu-Natal (South Africa)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, University of Witwatersrand Business School (South Africa)

Zia regularly attends workshops and seminars in order to keep abreast of recent research and developments within her area of practice.
Fees and Rebates
The standard fee for a consultation with Zia is $240 for individuals and $260 for couples. The Australian Psychological Society recommended fee for psychological treatment in 2022-2023 is $300 per hour.
You are eligible to claim a proportion of your fees from Medicare if you have been referred under a Mental Health Care Plan prepared by your GP. Depending on eligibility, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate of $131.65 per session, for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. You can also claim Medicare rebates if you have been referred by a psychiatrist or paediatrician. Please note that up until June 2022 Medicare will rebate 20 sessions in a calendar year.
Alternatively, a proportion of your fees may be redeemable from your private health fund, depending on your health plan.
Appointments:
Appointments are required and last for approximately 50 minutes.
No referral is necessary unless you wish to claim from Medicare.
